Theoretical Nuclear Physics


The research in our group faces highly topical open problems in Theoretical Nuclear Physics. These problems are related to nuclear structure aspects, reactions, and decay properties of exotic nuclei. Our approach to the problem is based on theoretical formalisms which represent the present state-of-the-art. On one hand, we use three-body techniques to describe light nuclei and, on the other hand, we use a correlated selfconsistent mean field formalism based on effective interactions for the description of nuclei along the nuclear chart. The subjects we address are also relevant to the modern radioactive beam facilities in operation or under construction, particularly so to FAIR. We also stress the relevant connections of our research lines with Astrophysics, Particle Physics, and Atomic or Molecular Physics.
