Group of Laser Materials and Laser-Materials Interaction


The scientific interests of our research group are focused on the design, synthesis and characterization of new “tailor-made” photosensitized nanostructured materials with improved biophotonic behavior for advanced biomedical applications, as well as to enhance the knowledge on the processes governing their synthesis, behavior and properties in regarding their structure and nanostructure and their biological response. Nowadays there is a growing demand for advanced materials capable of fulfilling multiple functions with the potential to revolutionize the biomedical field by providing powerful tools to diagnose and treat diseases from a molecular level. Our interests include: basic research on light / matter interaction, novel materials and new structures with optimized photonic properties and their application as advanced intelligent fluorescent labels in relevant biological processes.
