Carbon Materials Group

The Carbon Materials group currently comprises four staff research scientists, two post-doctoral researchers and four pre-doctoral researchers. It boasts a long track record in the field of carbon materials, having developed for more than 20 years a number of projects (funded at regional, national and European levels), contracts with companies, integrated actions and special actions related to the preparation, modification and application of such materials. This work has involved both fundamental and application-oriented research. At present, the core of the team’s activity focuses on two main areas: porous materials prepared using templating approaches and graphenes as well as related two-dimensional (2D) analogues obtained by colloidal routes.
