El presente servicio incluye varias prestaciones científico-técnicas del centro que se realizan mediante equipamiento e instrumentación singular del instituto. Las prestaciones que se realizan dentro de este servicio son las siguientes:

Use of Climatic Chamber for Thermal Characterization and Testing
The Cantabrian Institute of Physics (IFCA) has installed a climatic chamber with temperature control, which allows us to set temperature manually and program temperature cycles. This service menu is defined as the rent of this camera in order to make thermal tests. The use of the camera for contractor staff is possible only at IFCA installations during the normal IFCA staff working time. This service menu include the instruction of the contractor staff in the use of the climatic chamber, and the technical advice in order to set the machine, thermal cycles definition, or technical troubleshooting. The climatic chamber installed at IFCA in order to give this service menu, is a DYCOMETAL model CET -70/180. This chamber working range is between -70 º C and 100 ºC. The temperature regulation resolution is of 0.1ºC and the temperature homogeneity after temperature stabilization is of 1ºC. The heating speed of this climatic chamber is of 2ºC /min and the cooling speed is of 1ºC/min. It takes a bit longer to stabilize the temperature once the set point reached. For a good time estimation is better to make a previous temperature cycle test. This model doesn¿t include a humidity control, but a humidity sensor could be integrated in order to monitor humidity inside the chanber. In the same way a temperature sensor could be positioned inside the thermal chamber in order to monitor local temperature near the characterized equipment. With this climatic chamber the temperature can be set manually or some thermal cycles can be programmed and executed automatically. In both cases is possible to record climatic chamber sensor temperature data during thermal test. During thermal test the behavior of the tested equipment can be monetarized in real time without any effect in the climatic chamber performance. The instruments to control the behavior of the equipment to be characterized can be placed outside of the climatic chamber. In order to interconnect the equipment¿s with control and readout units the climatic chamber has two holes on the side for cables.
